Islam is the religion revealed by God (Allah) through all of His prophets and messengers — including Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad (peace be upon them all).
The message of Islam has always been the same: to worship the One Creator, the Sustainer of all, and to live by His guidance. God sent prophets with good news and warnings — that those who follow His guidance in this short worldly life will be admitted into an unimaginable Paradise for eternity, while those who knowingly reject it are warned of the punishment of the Hellfire.
Prophets and Messengers
- Prophets: Individuals chosen by Allah to guide their communities and remind them of God’s commands.
- Messengers: Prophets who were given a specific message or scripture (such as the Torah, the Gospel, or the Qur’an) to deliver to their people.
Miracles of the Messengers
Each messenger was given miracles suited to the time and culture in which they lived — as clear signs that they were truly sent by God.
- At the time of Moses (PBUH): Magic and sorcery were widespread, so God gave Moses miracles that surpassed all illusion — his staff became a real serpent and the sea parted by God’s command.
- At the time of Jesus (PBUH): Healing and medicine were highly valued, so God granted Jesus the power to heal the blind and lepers, and even bring the dead back to life — by God’s permission.
- At the time of Muhammad (PBUH): Eloquence and literature were at their peak, so Allah revealed the Qur’an — a timeless miracle of perfect language, wisdom, and guidance that no human can imitate. It is preserved and available in its original form.
The Final Messenger
Each messenger was sent to a specific people and time, but Muhammad (PBUH) was the last and final Messenger, sent to all of humanity until the end of time. God’s message in the Qur’an is a complete, preserved guidance for every generation and every nation.
Through him, God perfected the religion of Islam and made it a mercy for the entire world — a path of peace, purpose, and connection with our Creator.
The Five Pillars of Islam
The foundation of a Muslim’s faith and practice is built upon five pillars — acts of worship that strengthen one’s relationship with God and with others.
- Faith: To bear witness that there is no god but God, and that Muhammad is His Messenger.
- Prayer: To perform the five daily prayers, maintaining a constant connection with the creator.
- Charity: To give a portion of one’s wealth each year to those in need, purifying one’s wealth and helping build a just society.
- Fasting: To fast during the month of Ramadan, developing self-discipline, empathy, gratitude, and remove sins.
- Pilgrimage: To make the pilgrimage to the Kaaba in Makkah once in a lifetime, if physically and financially able. The Kaaba was originally built by Prophet Adam (PBUH), and later rebuilt by Prophet Abraham (PBUH) and his son Isma’il (PBUH) by the command of God.
Islam means peace through submission to God. It is not just a religion, but a complete way of life that brings balance, compassion, and purpose to every aspect of a person’s existence.
The Qur’an is a living miracle — perfectly preserved in its original Arabic form since it was revealed over 1,400 years ago. Early written copies still exist today, confirming its authenticity. Beyond written preservation, millions of Muslims around the world have memorized the Qur’an in its entirety, continuing an unbroken chain of transmission through generations.
The Qur’an’s truth is also evident in its remarkable consistency, its profound linguistic perfection, and the scientific and mathematical insights it contains — all of which reflect knowledge beyond human capability and affirm that it is truly the word of God.
